Closely Knit "Doing good deeds with wonderful fellowship!"
Baby Blankets Mailed
With funding from the Mission Committee, the Knitting Group has mailed 17 hand knit baby blankets to the Hellers in Malawi for the Mzuzu Crisis Orphanage. Come join the Knitting Group on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. All levels of skill are wlecome, we have yarn to share and all kinds of projects are in the works.
SOME PAST PROJECTS:
Six handmade prayer shawls from stitchers belonging to Potsdam’s First congregation were taken and distributed in Gulfport, Mississippi after huricanes hit. They were added to similar items taken to MS by the work group headed by Ogdensburg’s First Presbyterian Church. The shawls will continue to give strength and encouragement to their recipients.
Shawls, prayer squares, and small afghans also were made and were sent to people affected by the tragedy at Virginia Tech tragedy. They were given to students, staff, and the first responders involved. Fellow stitchers from the newly formed ecumenical group, added to the number sent off.
Knitted and Crocheted Baby Blankets For Ethiopia were gathered and sent to an orphanage in Ethiopia. They certainly were welcomed and appreciated! The blankets (and hats, sweaters) were blessed during a worship service.

If you would like to become more involved with such endeavors, please feel free to ask any of our knitters for information and ideas, or call contact Vernice Church. The projects can be quite small or more involved. They do not necessarily need to be made during weekly gatherings.
